ℹ️ What is SPF, DKIM and DMARC?

These three DNS-based protocols work together to authenticate your outbound email and prevent spoofing.

  • SPF (Sender Policy Framework) — Lists the IP addresses authorised to send email on behalf of your domain
  • DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) — Adds a cryptographic signature to outbound emails, allowing receivers to verify they weren't tampered with
  • DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) — Ties SPF and DKIM together and tells receivers what to do with mail that fails both checks (monitor, quarantine or reject)

Without these records, anyone can send email pretending to be from your domain, and your legitimate emails are more likely to land in spam.
